ZOOPRAMA – Organization for the Protection of Animals and the Environment – is located in Tiquipaya. It is a civil NGO whose foundation is based upon the support of volunteers who hope to promote animal rights and protection. ZOOPRAMA offers many animal protection volunteer opportunities for passionate people. The organization works with birds of prey, street dogs, and other vulnerable animal populations in Cochabamba.

Current Projects

  • Rehabilitation and Research Centerresearch on birds of prey, in addition to rehabilitating those found injured
  • Animal Shelter – care for rescued street dogs, including neutering
  • Community Education – facilitate school, community center, etc. visits to the center to encourage a deeper understanding of Cochabamba animals and how to respect & care for them


Volunteer/Internship Requirements

  Spanish Beginner
  Minimum commitment 2 months
  Related knowledge/skills Kind and comfortable around animals
If possible, experience in veterinary science, biology, agronomy or other related fields
Comfort and experience with child education and in developing educational programs
  Other details: Self – initiative is very important!
